Saipan is a rather small island with a long history. From being one of the earliest settled archipelagos in the Micronesian area 3500 years ago to today, Saipan has been controlled by four super powers: Spanish, German, Japanese, and American. Camp Susupe POWs where moved to baseball field at Garapan
That's very interesting and I was not aware of that location. I know another camp was opened to the south in Chalan Canoa for locals and a POW camp was created further north. I am familiar with the pre-war Japanese sports field in Garapan. Please tell me more.
